Dr. Torabi graduated in 1995 from Isfahan Medical University in Iran where he finished his MD. In 1998, he moved to China to take an advanced Medical Acupuncture course at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He had his internship training at Yueyang University in 1998 and Shuguang hospital in 2005, mainly in chronic musculoskeletal pain. He used to run an Acupuncture clinic in Iran from 1999 to 2005 prior to moving to Australia in 2006 and relocated to Melbourne where he joined RMIT University Traditional Medicine research group. The area of his research and work has been chronic musculoskeletal pain since 1997. He speaks English, Persian and Dari. He has been practicing family medicine in Australia since 2008.
